Empowering Tire Manufacturing: SBT Ultrasonic at RubberTech China 2026

16- 09- 2026

On September 15, the RubberTech China (24th China International Rubber Technology Exhibition) officially opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

SBT Ultrasonic(Stock Code: 688392), a listed company with nearly 20 years of experience in the tire and rubber industry, made a major appearance at the exhibition with its Ultrasonic Cutting and quality inspection solutions. SBT Ultrasonic showcased a range of core products, including the X-Ray Automatic Inspection & Rejection System, CCD Splice Inspection System, and a full range of Ultrasonic Cutting Systems, demonstrating its in-house technological capabilities to address the evolving needs of the tire industry.

The tire industry is currently accelerating its transition toward higher-end, smarter, and more globalized manufacturing. As demand from high-end customers continues to rise, requirements for end-to-end quality control, process precision, and manufacturing consistency are becoming increasingly stringent, while the limitations of conventional production equipment are becoming more apparent. Meanwhile, as tire manufacturers expand overseas, international certifications and localized service capabilities have become important market-entry requirements. Upgrading production equipment has therefore become a key driver for improving manufacturing quality and efficiency.

X-Ray Automatic Inspection & Rejection System: Strengthening Quality Control at the Source

To address foreign object control challenges in rubber mixing and calendering processes, SBT Ultrasonic has developed the X-Ray Automatic Inspection & Rejection System.

Conventional metal detection equipment can only identify metallic contaminants and can not detect non-metallic foreign objects such as plastics and wood. Such undetected contaminants may lead to defects such as bulging and cracking in subsequent tire production, resulting in batch scrap and potential after-sales claims.

Through continuous R&D and technological innovation, SBT Ultrasonic has expanded the detection range beyond conventional metal detection. The standard version can detect hard foreign objects such as metal, glass, ceramics, and stones, while the upgraded version can also identify contaminants such as plastics and wood.

Designed for continuous production environments characterized by high dust and humidity in rubber processing workshops, the system features a protective structure and an integrated automatic rejection mechanism. It enables a fully automated closed-loop process covering detection, alarm, and rejection, helping prevent defective materials from entering downstream processes at the source. This helps manufacturers reduce material waste and after-sales quality risks while meeting the stringent supply-chain quality control requirements of leading automotive OEMs.

CCD Splice Inspection System: Improving Online Quality Control

To address joint quality control requirements during tire building, SBT Ultrasonic's CCD Splice Inspection System enables high-precision online inspection.

During the application of belt and tread components, parameters such as joint overlap/gap and material-width deviation directly affect tire building quality. Conventional manual visual inspection is often inefficient, inconsistent, and susceptible to missed defects, making it difficult to keep pace with high-speed automated production lines.

Equipped with a high-speed image acquisition unit, the system delivers high-response, high-precision real-time inspection without requiring repeated on-site calibration. Its modular split design allows flexible installation across different production-line configurations and supports multiple tire specifications.

By improving inspection efficiency and first-pass yield during the tire building process, the system helps reduce rework costs while supporting flexible production across multiple tire product types.

Ultrasonic Cutting: Cleaner Cuts, Greater Process Stability

SBT Ultrasonic Cutting Systems cover ultrasonic cross-cutting and straight-cutting applications, with multiple frequency options including 20 kHz and 40 kHz, supporting a wide range of cutting scenarios in tire manufacturing.

Conventional mechanical cutting can result in insufficient cut smoothness, burrs, and excessive debris, which can directly affect the stability of subsequent joint bonding and increase the risk of cracking in finished tires.

SBT Ultrasonic's proprietary ultrasonic cutting technology delivers smooth and consistent cuts without generating unnecessary debris, helping improve joint bonding quality and process stability. The complete product range can be matched to different production-line speeds and material specifications, helping manufacturers optimize cutting-process efficiency and meet the production requirements of various tire products.

Proven in Tire Manufacturing Applications

Currently, SBT Ultrasonic's products have been deployed by multiple leading tire manufacturers in China and overseas. They have achieved batch-scale implementation across key processes including rubber mixing quality control, tire building inspection, and high-precision cutting, with equipment performance and operational stability validated through long-term production-line operation.

As the global footprint of the tire industry continues to expand, SBT Ultrasonic is also advancing its international product strategy. Related equipment has obtained international certifications including CE and UL, enabling it to meet supplier qualification requirements of major global automotive OEMs.

Meanwhile, supported by a marketing and service network covering Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, and North America, SBT Ultrasonic can provide production-line integration and localized technical services for tire manufacturers' overseas facilities, helping customers expand their capabilities across global supply chains.
